Our Purpose & More

Our Purpose

Our purpose will be to live out Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”

Our Theme

The Main Thing is to keep the Main Thing – The Main Thing”

Our Desire

Our desire is to glorify Christ in all that we do! To please Him, to be fishers of men, and to be obedient to the Great Commission!

Our Heart

Our heart is that we would be a people of growing faith and committed to be a praying church. We seek to love one another and to build great fellowship that includes all people.

Our Need

We need to be led by the Holy Spirit, filled with the Holy Spirit, and empowered by the Holy Spirit!

“We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you, come thou with us, and we will do thee good …”

 Numbers 10:29

He makes all things new

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

Revelation 21:4-5

Our Structure

New Beginnings Church of Trade, Tennessee is pastor led, deacon served, committee operated, and congregationally approved. By doing so, our desire is to follow God’s plan for His best and His blessing.

Pastor Led

As God calls men who live out the biblical qualifications of pastor to provide leadership for the church. The pastor’s role is to edify the saints through:

      • Accurate teaching of God’s Word
      • Leading, equipping and mobilizing members for ministry
      • Shepherding, protecting and nurturing the flock so that the church functions as a healthy and unified body

1 Peter 5: 1-4; Acts 20:28; 1 Timothy 3:1-6; Titus 1:5-9; Hebrews 13:7, 17

Deacon Served

Through the affirmation of the pastor and the church, men are chosen whose lives exemplify the Biblical qualifications for the role of deacon. Deacons are appointed primarily for the purpose of helping the church by freeing the pastors to prepare to teach, to lead and shepherd. They keep the body clear of anything that would prevent it from functioning in a healthy way. They resolve problems, meet needs, and minister to the church.

Acts 6:1-7; 1 Timothy 3: 8-13; Philippians 1:1

Committee Operated

Ephesians 4 teaches that the members of the church are to perform the work of the ministry. The Bible says much about commitment and operating in harmony with others of common commitment. We seek to engage members in the areas of their spiritual giftedness.

1 Corinthians 12 and 1 Corinthians 13

Congregationally Approved

The congregation invests trust in the leadership of the church to make a multitude of operating decisions. The leadership, together with the affirmation of the congregation, approves major decisions affecting the direction of the church. All official actions of the church, its officers, employees and agents are subject to the discretion of the membership.

Acts 1:26, Acts 6:1-3; Acts 15:22; 1 Corinthians 5:1-5
